On the occasion of the 74th FIFA Congress in Bangkok, FFF president Philippe Diallo signed a cooperation agreement with the OFC, the first of its kind with a confederation.

President of the FFF Philippe Diallo and Lambert Maltock, his counterpart from the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC), officially sealed the cooperation agreement between the two bodies on Thursday May 16th during the 74th FIFA Congress, currently taking place in Bangkok, Thailand. Their shared experience will be at the heart of this major project that will allow the FFF to export its know-how to territories around the world.

This is the first time that a cooperation agreement has been signed with one of the six international confederations, and it is no coincidence that it is with Oceania. Among the territories grouped together by the confederation, two are French: Tahiti and New Caledonia. It provides a means of gaining closer contact with autonomous regional leagues, under the aegis of the FFF, which benefit from support in the development of their technical policy via the National Technical Directorate (DTN).

By promoting its expertise abroad and learning from practices implemented in these same territories, the FFF is sharing its experience and strengthening its knowledge of football internationally and is also a way of getting involved in society by helping to develop football across the globe.

Philippe Diallo, president of the FFF : "The FFF is happy and proud to engage with the OFC as part of a four-year cooperation agreement. This is a historic first that we would like to highlight because it is the first time that we have engaged with a confederation. This agreement is the result of a natural and logical reflection since among the members of the Oceania confederation are two French territories, Tahiti and New Caledonia. By being involved in this large-scale international plan, the FFF intends to play its social and solidarity role by designing and implementing development projects for the benefit of all in these territories. In this desire for "win-win" engagement, it is the exchange between our two institutions that is at the heart of our ambitions."
