Austria, Netherlands and Path a qualifier on the menu for France
France learned that they will face Austria, the Netherlands and the winner of the Path A play off in the UEFA Euro 2024 group stage in Germany next year, following the draw that took place on Saturday 2nd December in Hamburg.
Les Bleus already know two of their three opponents for the group stage of the 17th edition of the UEFA European Championship, which will take place in Germany between June 14th and July 14th next summer. The draw, made on Saturday December 2nd at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, saw them placed them in Group D along with Austria (24th in the current FIFA rankings), the Netherlands (Ranked 6th) and the winner of the Path A play off to be contested by Poland, Wales, Finland and Estonia. The Draw
Group A: Germany, Scotland, Hungary, Switzerland.
Group B: Spain, Croatia, Italy, Albania.
Group C: Slovenia, Denmark, Serbia, England.
Group D: Play off winner - Path A (see below), Netherlands, Austria, France.
Group E: Belgium, Slovakia, Romania, play off winner - Path B (see below).
Group F: Turkey, play off winner - Path C (see below), Portugal, Czech Republic.
Euro 2024 will kick off on Friday June 14th at 9pm, when Germany face Scotland in the tournament opener. Didier Deschamps' side will enter the fray on Monday June 17th against Austria in Düsseldorf.
