Ukraine, Finland, Bosnia and Kazakhstan on the menu
The French team will face Ukraine, Finland, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Kazakhstan in the qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup. The matches will take place between March and November 2021.
Ukraine (24th FIFA), Finland (54th FIFA), Bosnia-Herzegovina (55th FIFA) and Kazakhstan (122nd FIFA) will be France's four opponents in the race to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The "remote" draw carried out on Monday in Zurich (Switzerland) placed Didier Deschamps' Bleus in Group D.
Qualified for the final phase of the League of Nations, France (with a top ranking) was assured a place in a group of five teams.
The Tricolores will meet Ukraine and Finland, whom they played in the autumn in friendly matches, with a large victory against the Ukrainians (7-1) and a surprise defeat against the Finns (0-2). However, they have not played against Bosnia-Herzegovina since the Euro 2012 qualifiers (one win, one draw). Finally, Kazakhstan, will be an unprecedented opponent.
