Didier Deschamps: "A wise decision"

Here is the reaction of the French team's coach after the announcement on Tuesday March 17 by the UEFA of the postponement of the next Euro from June 11th to July 11, 2021.

"UEFA has decided to postpone Euro 2020 by one year. This is a wise decision, given the devastation that Covid-19 is causing around the world.

For all of us, the priority is elsewhere. Let us think of those who are suffering and of all those who, unfortunately, risk suffering in the days or weeks to come. Now more than ever, we need to reorganize our priorities, responsibility and civic duty. The only game to be won is the one we are currently playing against the Coronavirus. More than ever, we must all show solidarity, rigour, and discipline. This challenge concerns all of us.

All of those who are currently mobilized to save lives deserve not only our gratitude but also our support. To help them, we must scrupulously follow the instructions given to us. Protect yourself, stay at home as much as possible. By protecting yourself you are also protecting others".
