Meeting today, the Executive Committee of the French Football Federation agreed to set up an exceptional solidarity fund to support the return of amateur club’s activities and to face the economic repercussions of the Covid-19 crisis at the start of the 2020-2021 season.

This solidarity fund, funded by the FFF, leagues and districts, will amount to a total of €30 million in additional aid to clubs. It will be intended for the 14,000 amateur clubs throughout the country and will bolster the 2019-2020 budget already allocated to amateur football (€86m), which the FFF has maintained in full, despite the cessation of all activities and competitions since March 13, 2020. Despite the impact of the Covid-19 crisis on their revenue, the FFF, leagues and districts are increasing their historic commitment to the development of amateur football, whose educational and social role is essential.

Since 2018, the FFF has allocated a total of €300m in aid to amateur football over three seasons (2018-2019, 2019-2020 and 2020-2021). All these efforts, to which should be added the strengthening of the financial solidarity of professional football, will make it possible to surpass the historic €100 million mark in aid allocated to amateur football for the 2020-2021 season.

Details of the solidarity fund for amateur clubs:

♦ Each amateur club will receive 10€ per license holder. This aid, financed by the FFF, the leagues and the districts, will be credited to the account of the clubs concerned from July onwards. Clubs will be able to sign up today via an online questionnaire to benefit from this fund.

♦ An endowment for footballs totaling 3 M€ for the most fragile clubs (less than 100 members).

♦ An increase of €1.25m in aid for employment and training in clubs

These projects will be complemented by specific support from the FFF for national clubs, as leagues and districts will do for the clubs in their territories. Details of this FFF support for the 2020-2021 season:

♦ Revaluation of 20% of the amount of club license holders awarded by the FFF for N2, N3 and D1 Futsal clubs (+ 870,000 euros).

♦ Creation of a grant of 5,000 euros for each women's D2 club.

♦ Revaluation of mileage allowances (+'600,000) for all national clubs.

♦ Revaluation of compensation for the French Women's Cup (+'400,000).

6 M€ for Arkema's women's D1 clubs

In addition, the FFF Executive Committee agreed to strengthen support for D1 Arkema's women's clubs through the solidarity of professional football (FFF-LFP convention). This additional specific aid package will amount to €6 million for the 2020-2021 season.
